Developer's Notebook - Entries
This help file dealss with a section called the Adilas developer's notebook. Basically, it is a collection of daily notes, blog entries, brainstorming sessions, project notes, ideas, requests, and daily tasks that have been done by the Adilas developers (code writers and application builders). Most of the early entries were done by Brandon Moore. Other developers have also contributed as time has gone on. In a way, this is the step by step history of projects worked on, requests made, lessons learned, and hope for the future vision of the company. To some, this section may be a mess of random notes and such... To us, here at Adilas, this is a historical gold mine with tons of notes, ideas, concepts, successes, and failures. This is where we came from and how we got to where we are. Enjoy. If you want a small visual treat... Click here to see a number of concepts in graphic form. As a side note, if you click on the smaller thumbnail images, there is a small caption about each photo in the gallery. Lots of these photos and concepts came from the developer's notebooks over the years. Technical Information (for developers) - Ways of using the developer's notebook: -Use URL.q or URL.search to filter the records. both do the same thing. - Other URL vars are: colorValue, corpList, fromDate, monthlyDate, monthlyYear, sort, template, timePeriod, toDate - Some other notes and defaults: - URL.colorValue = possible values - all, "", black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red, white, yellow - URL.corpList = 22,371,748 (default list) - If not submitted, rolls back to default list - URL.fromDate = All or some valid date - URL.monthlyDate = "" or months 1-12 - URL.monthlyYear = "" or any year such as 2000-2026 (and beyond) - URL.sort = DESC (newest first) or ASC (oldest first) - URL.template = 1 or some other template id number (view source if needed) - URL.timePeriod = 4 (default) - other values are: 1=daily, 3=monthly, and 4=custom range - URL.toDate = All or some valid date - URL.pageNumber = 1 or any valid page number Small sample: https://data0.adilas.biz/top_secret/developers_notebook_home.cfm?q=world%20building&corp=748&fromDate=1/1/2015&toDate=12/31/2020&timePeriod=4&sort=ASC&template=821&pageNumber=1 In order to use the URL vars... the URL.q or the URLsearch must have something in it. Small side note, once the developer's notebook page renders (on the web), the full URL is embedded in the HTML page source code. We do this in case you need to copy/paste the URL or save it as a reference. Simply right click, view page source, and copy the link. This allows you to use the provided form and we will help you translate it into an actual URL or web link. All in all, there are only about 4 actual pages that are used inside of the developer's notebook. They are: Historical Web Outline - Entries By Month & Year Overview page with links to the different entries by month and year. Dynamic based on results inside the system. Sample: https://data0.adilas.biz/top_secret/web_time_list.cfm?corpList=748,22,371 Developer's Notebook Homepage This is the main search results page that is described above - various URL or FORM values may be used to sub filter this page. Sample: https://data0.adilas.biz/top_secret/developers_notebook_home.cfm?corpList=748,22,371 Time/Notebook Entry and Photo Gallery This page will be used over and over again to show the actual entries (templated style page for showing individual results). Sample: https://data0.adilas.biz/top_secret/time_web_gallery.cfm?corp=748&id=13008 Web Gallery Page This page shows any uploaded graphics in a gallery type setting. Basically, the big photo of the uploaded image. Sample: https://data0.adilas.biz/top_secret/big_photo_gallery.cfm?corp=748&id=13008&photo=2&caption=The%20Systemized%20Way&person=Brandon%20Moore&count=9 Not all, but most pages, that have other attached files and/or media will say "see attached" somewhere in the notes of the main entry. This could be files, images, documents, or other media. If you navigate to the time/notebook entry, links to those files and/or other media will be available. All content and entries that are outside the main system have a setting that allows for public or private display. Only time/entries with the public setting turned on will be viewable from the developer's notebook. |
