Production Templates

A production template says how a kind of run goes: its process, its phases, what goes in, what comes out and how the cost is shared, the waste rule, its Metrc job type and its defaults. New Production Run starts from a template, and the eight built-in processes (extract, infuse, cure, manufacture, recipe, package, combine and testing sample) are templates too.

  • Production Templates lists the built-in processes, with your company's changes, and your saved templates: each with its phases, what goes in, what it makes and its cost shares, and how many runs used it in the last 90 days. Start opens New Production Run with it; Edit and Copy open Production Template.
  • Viewing needs the Basic PO's permission (56); adding and changing templates needs Page settings (176). The template pages open on the Apex look even before your company turns the new Production process on, so you can set up first.
  • Production Template has Basics, Phases, Inputs, Outputs and cost, Waste, Metrc and Defaults. Phases can be added, moved up or down, and removed. Each output's cost share is its percentage of the run's value.
  • When runs have already used a template, a change to its phases or its Metrc job type is saved as a new version. Those runs keep the version they used, and they still count toward the template.
  • A saved template can be switched off, and on again; runs that used it keep it. A built-in process can't be switched off: change it instead.
  • Save as template on a run (or in the board's More) starts a new template from the run: its outputs with their shares of the run's value, its location, finish now or later, and how its outputs took their sources.
