Apex: the new look of adilas

Apex is the newer look of adilas: a menu down the side, a bar across the top, and the pages built around them (Today, All Tools, the module pages, My Homescreen and the APEX dashboards). The pages you work in are the same adilas pages; Apex changes how you get to them.

Getting Apex

  • Apex is switched on for each company on Add/Edit Corp (CSS, Headers, Footers, Skins & Themes), by a company administrator for their own company. It takes effect within a minute; nobody needs to sign out.
  • The company also picks the starting look: Apex for everyone, or Classic or Snow Owl until each person chooses Apex.
  • Each person can choose for themselves on Theme & Appearance (in the account menu, top right): the company default, Classic, Snow Owl or Apex, the appearance, where the menu sits and the spacing. The choice is theirs only, in that company.
  • A company with its own custom header, footer or styles keeps them.

The side menu

  • At the top: your company and My Homescreen. Then the modules: My Settings, Sales / POS, Customers & CRM, Vendors & Purchasing, Accounting, Payroll, Scheduling, Inventory, Operations, Reports & Analytics, Marketing, Cannabis & Compliance, Administration and Calculators & Utilities. Today is under My Settings.
  • Open a module to see its pages; "All of" the module opens its own page.
  • A page you can't open stays in the list, greyed, with a note naming the permission that would open it, so you know what to ask your administrator for. "View" means you can look but not change.
  • At the bottom: All Tools, My Favorites and Collapse.

The top bar

  • Quick search. Its suggestions only offer pages you can open.
  • Your company's links, your own links, and Quick Action (a new sale, find a customer, purchase orders, banking, reports). A greyed one names the permission it needs.
  • Clock in/out, News & Updates, messages, the customer queue (when your company uses it) and your cart.
  • Your account menu: switch company (when you have more than one), help for this page, Theme & Appearance, your profile and settings, My Homescreen, Switch Interface, All Tools, My Favorites and Log Out.

The looks: SkyHawk, DuskHawk and NightHawk

  • SkyHawk is light (the default), DuskHawk is a blend (a branded menu with light pages), and NightHawk is dark.
  • NightHawk darkens the menu and the top bar. A page's own content turns dark only when that page has been made ready for it (Today, All Tools, the module pages, My Homescreen, the APEX dashboards, News & Updates); the others stay light.
  • The menu sits on the left (the default), on the right, or across the top on a wide screen. Compact spacing makes the menu rows shorter.
  • Theme & Appearance saves your choice to your account. The Appearance controls in the account menu change only this browser.
  • Company administrators set the Apex colors on Apex Theme Settings. Classic and Snow Owl keep their own colors.

All Tools and the module pages

  • All Tools lists every page you can open, grouped by module, with a search box that matches a page's name, its older name, its module and its file name. "Show tools I don't have access to" adds the rest, greyed, each with the permission it needs.
  • Each module page lays out one module in four groups: Overview, Work, Reports and Setup (set once, rarely changed), with how many of its pages you can open.

My Homescreen

  • A home page you design yourself: shortcuts, link groups, a search bar, notes, a clock and a calendar, and live widgets such as Messages, Today, My work, Receivables aging and Sales. Every widget follows your own permissions.
  • Press Customize to add, move and resize widgets, then Save. Start from a ready layout (front counter, manager, bookkeeper, inventory) or a blank canvas, and pick a wallpaper. You can have up to 8 pages.
  • "Make this my start page" opens it when you sign in. A company administrator can share a layout with the whole company.

The APEX dashboards

  • Ready-made dashboards for a role or an industry: owner, general manager, accounting, receivables, payables, payroll, marketing, restaurants and retail, cannabis, powersports, manufacturing, distribution and more. Find them on Switch Interface; each one can be viewed or set as your home page.
  • Choose the period (today, this month, last month, or the last 7, 30 or 90 days) and a location.
  • Every section checks its own permission. A section you may not see says "restricted"; one that could not be read says "unavailable". Neither shows a zero.
  • "Needs attention" items are checks of your recorded data, not AI predictions.

Going back: choose Classic or Snow Owl on Theme & Appearance, or a company administrator can turn Apex off on Add/Edit Corp.
