Journal entries are for what has no record of its own in Adilas.biz: accruals, depreciation, loans, owner money and corrections. Everything else posts itself.
- An entry needs at least two lines, and debits must equal credits. Each line can have a location and a department.
- Save keeps a draft. Post puts it in the ledger. A posted entry is changed by voiding it (the ledger reverses it) and posting a new one.
- Reversing: give a reverse date, and the ledger takes it back on that date (for example, a month-end accrual reversed on the 1st).
- Recurring: a schedule posts the entry every week, month, quarter or year until its end date.
- Approval (Settings): when it is on, the person who last saved an entry can't post it.
- Import: bring journal entries from a spreadsheet, either the ledger's template or a QuickBooks Online or Xero export. You see a preview first, and duplicates are skipped.
- Dates on or before the ice-down date can't be posted.
